Some Brasileiro "Sounds Of Brazil"

Som Brasileiro’s music reflects the rich folk/traditional flavor that has made Brazilian popular music unique. The group embraces traditional Samba, Bossa Nova, Brazilian pop music from the Tropicalismo trend of the ’70’s.

With great floating rhythms, beautiful melodies and affecting chord progressions, this music is engaging and mysterious–and definitely takes the listener on a journey. SOUNDS OF BRAZIL is released on Odyssey Records and was nominated for the Nashville Music Awards “Jazz Album Of The Year”.

Reaching back in the archives of this amazing group of musicians....Please check out Som Brasileiro on Band Camp. "Som Brasileiro- Live!" was truly an experience for me...This was recorded when the band was fairly new (early 1990's) and we were performing some amazing tunes by Brazil's finest composers! The band was 6 pieces then, and later on we expanded to 9. Bandmembers:
Diane Marino: Vocals, Keyboards
Rusty Jessup: saxes, Flute
John Parks, Guitar
Frank Marino: Bass
Dan Needham: Drums
Jamie Nichol: Conga/Percussion
Dann Sherrill: Percussion
